چکیده
We present ISOCAM images (1.5 ′′ px −1) in the LW2 (6.75 µm) and LW3 (15 µm) broad band filters of the circumnuclear starburst of NGC 4321 (M 100). A detailed comparison with the emission at other wavelengths (U , B, Hα, and CO) is also presented. The nature and intensity of the mid-infrared emission is shown to be remarkably different from one star forming region to the next. For instance, star forming regions at the ends of the nuclear bar may contain enshrouded Wolf-Rayet stars.

First Results from ISOCAM Images of Circumnuclear Starbursts in Barred Galaxies
For a sample of ten nearby barred galaxies, images at 6.75μm and 15μm of circumnuclear starbursts are being taken by ISOCAM on board of the ISO satellite. We first recall the main goals of our project, give its current status, and finally, as an example, preliminary results for NGC 4321 (M100) are presented.
متن کاملElectrical μ-Lens Synthesis Using Dual-Junction Single-Photon Avalanche Diode
This work presents a dual-junction, single-photon avalanche diode (SPAD) with electrical μ-lens designed and simulated in 90 nm standard complementary metal oxide semiconductor (CMOS) technology. The evaluated structure can collect the photons impinging beneath the pixel guard ring, as well as the pixel active area. The fill factor of the SPAD increases from 12.5% to 42% in comparison with simi...
متن کاملX - ray emission from NGC 4321 ( M 100 ) : detection of supernova 1979 C
In a 42.8 ks ROSAT HRI X-ray observation of the spiral galaxy NGC 4321 (M 100) X-ray emission from the supernova 1979C is discovered, sixteen years after its outburst, with an (0.1–2.4 keV) X-ray luminosity of Lx = 1.0 × 1039 erg s−1. No X-ray emission is observed from the three other historical supernovae in NGC 4321 (SN 1901B, SN 1914A and SN 1959E). In addition to SN 1979C, seven X-ray point...
متن کاملA circumnuclear molecular torus in NGC 1365
The central region of NGC 1365 has been mapped in the J = 3 − 2 CO emission line with the 15 m SEST, which has a HPBW of 15′′ at the frequency of this transition. The observing grid has a 5′′-spacing in the inner and a 10′′-spacing in the outer region. A deconvolved map has been produced using the Maximum Entropy Method (MEM). A circumnuclear molecular torus with a radius of about 6. ′′5 is the...
متن کاملResolving Circumnuclear Star Formation in M100 with Image Stabilisation at UKIRT
Near-infrared (JHK) images of the nucleus of the barred spiral galaxy M100 (NGC 4321) have been obtained using a high-bandwidth tip-tilt secondary and fast guider system on the 3.8m United Kingdom Infrared Telescope (UKIRT). The resulting images, with a resolution of 0: 00 34 at K, reveal for the rst time a host of compact \knots", which appear to be the result of a recent burst (or bursts) of ...
